The Restated Contract is Win-Win

The successful relationship between WM and the city has already saved the Jacksonville citizens and businesses over $160 million.  The agreement going forward provides even more benefits:

Allows the city to cancel the contract. Allows the city to receive new, green services such as recycling, which are vital to protecting the environment and extends the life of the landfill. Allows for the use of even more efficient technology for the disposition of solid waste as that technology becomes available. Guarantees competitive bidding for all expenditures and construction. The City of Jacksonville is finally relieved from the environmental liability of landfill operations.

Going forward from today, together we will save Jacksonville citizens and businesses over $250 million.
